Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) perform assigned nursing tasks, such as taking a resident’s vital signs. Certified Nursing Assistants also provide personal care, such as bathing residents and helping with hair care. Promoting independence and self-care are also other important tasks that nursing assistants do.
Home Health Aides work directly with clients and families in their homes. You will be part of a team of health professionals that includes physicians, nurses, social workers, therapists and specialist. Home Health Aides (HHAs) provide assistance to the chronically ill, the elderly and family caregivers who need relief from the stress of caregiving.
Phlebotomists are professionals trained to draw blood who has a variety of job skills and personal characteristics, including compassion, organization skills and communication skills. After training, the phlebotomist may become certified by AMCA or by other professional organizations.
Students will learn the anatomy of the heart structure, cardiovascular physiology function, basic electrophysiology, interpretation of an EKG strip.
